The guys at Adelaide Eye and Laser Centre have been at it again! This time Karen O’Reilly AELC’s new Administration Manager found a few pieces of equipment that are on their way to make a huge difference to avoidable blindness in Cambodia.
Following the success of bumping in several pieces of equipment late last year, AELC have generously donated more again! And with over three and a half thousand surgeries taking place each year at our Cambodian clinic the machines are sure to get a work out!
Walking into AELC you can tell its a special place. Peter Ingham established the clinic in 1999 and since then thousands of South Australians have benefited from the professional eye care that AELC provides. But what we love about Peter and his team is their ability to ‘see double’.
Karen O’Reilly’s bright smile and her enthusiasm for 2h are inspiring. Throwing open the cupboard doors at the clinic she asks the question, ‘Can you use any of this, if you can its yours?’. Clearly its more than what happens within the four walls that’s important for the team at AELC.
They’re changing the world, one bit of equipment at a time!
